Expedition Everest is the newest thrill ride at Walt Disney World, and the third to be built at the Animal Kingdom, joining the rough and tumble Dinosaur and the wet and wild (but mild) thrills of Kali River Rapids.

Expedition Everest was partly inspired by the Matterhorn Bobsled in Disneyland (built way back in 1959). Like the Matterhorn, Expedition Everest features a snowy mountain setting (though on a much larger scale) and a fearsome encounter with the Yeti, though of course the Yeti that you encounter on Expedition Everest is much more abominable!
