Camp Minnie Mickey occupied the area of the Animal Kingdom originally intended for the mythical animals and was to be called Beastlie Kingdomme. Original plans included a dragon rollercoaster and a unicorn hedge maze, but budgetary constraints prevented these ambitious plans from coming to fruition at the time. The solution for what to do with this section of the park was to create a unique, safari-themed character greeting area, and Camp Minnie Mickey was born!
