Dinosaur is the premiere thrill ride at the Animal Kingdom (at least until Expedition Everest opens!). The dinosaurs you'll encounter are big, loud, and positively frightening! The ride itself is unique to Walt Disney World. It's not quite a roller coaster—there aren't any drops or inversions—but it's not your typical indoor track ride either. This ride is out of control, with lots of jerky stops, bouncing turns and brief spurts of breakneck speed.
You aren't moving exceptionally fast, but the tight turns and wicked jolts certainly make you feel like your zipping along. You'll definitely want to hang on!
The dinosaurs you'll encounter are amazingly lifelike, and the dazzling lighting effects and ear-splitting sounds (particularly at the end when the asteroid is about to impact) are astounding.
Dinosaur bounces you around more than any other attraction at Walt Disney World. The jolts, bumps and jarring turns can get quite intense, and while there's no spinning or severe drops, Dinosaur can wreak havoc on sensitive stomachs. If bouncing around makes you queezy, you may want to approach with caution. If your bouts with motion sickness are confined to spinning however, you should be able to handle Dinosaur without any problems.
Curiously, Dinosaur may be the most overlooked thrill attraction at Walt Disney World. While it is moderately popular, you'll often find that the crowds are not that bad. This is likely due to the fact that Dinosaur is located in a remote area of the park, and that most people gravitate towards Kilimanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids. Additionally, Expedition Everest will likely draw large crowds for quite a while, so you should be able to visit Dinosaur without too much wait time. If lines do get long, FastPass is available.
Your journey back to prehistoric times lasts a bit under 4 minutes.

This intense thrill ride packs quite a punch. The sheer terror of encountering these ultra-realistic (and loud!) dinosaurs is matched only by the wild and turbulent race against time. Definitely not for the faint of heart!
