The TV show that inspired the attraction, "Bear in the Big Blue House", is produced by The Jim Henson Company (Jim Henson is best known as the creator of the Muppets).

The TV show attained such popularity that Bear himself sometimes appeared on the game show the Hollywood Squares (but he has yet to appear on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!).
