| The voice of
your droid tour guide
RX-24 is supplied by Paul Rubens (otherwise
known as Pee-Wee Herman). |
|
|
 |
| In the queue
area, listen for a voice announcing an
illegally parked speeder
with the license number
THX-1138. Star Wars fans will recognize
that as the title of George Lucas's first
film. |
|
|
 |
| Listen for REX mentioning
that he "has
a very bad feeling about this" when
the ship flies into one of the comets. This
is a very famous line in the Star Wars universe,
it has appeared in every film in the two
trilogies. |
|
|
 |
| The fuel tanker
that you nearly run into
at the conclusion of your tour has a hazardous
materials sign and registration number on
its side.
The registration number is Lucasfilm's old
office
phone number (but don't bother calling it!). |
|
|
 |
| The baskets of
parts in the Droidnostics Center in the queue
area have hidden initials and birth dates
of some of the Imagineers and Industrial
Light & Magic technicians who worked on the
attraction. (ILM is the name of George Lucas's
special effects company.) |
|
|
 |
| Many people believe
that the
technician in the landing bay who ducks in
terror as Rex nearly crashes
into him is none other than George Lucas
making a cameo appearance. As cool as that
would be, the man is in fact Ira Keeler,
an Industrial Light & Magic modelmaker. |
