The Great Movie Ride was not only an original
attraction at the Disney's Hollywood Studios, it actually inspired the creation
of the park! The Great Movie Ride
was originally conceived of as a headliner
attraction for a show business
themed pavilion at Epcot (to be located between
the Land and Imagination pavilions). As plans
for the attraction continued to be developed,
former CEO Michael Eisner and WDI president
Marty Sklar realized that the magic of Hollywood
and the movies could provide the foundation
for an entirely new park. The concept was
further developed, and the Disney's Hollywood Studios soon opened with the Great Movie
Ride appropriately being the
centerpiece. |
