| The main gate
at the Disney's Hollywood Studios is a reproduction
of the facade of the Pan-Pacific Auditorium
in Los Angeles built in 1935. Considered
to be one of America's finest examples of
Streamline
Moderne
architecture,
the green
and white facade featured four stylized
towers and flagpoles meant to represent upswept
aircraft fins above the entrance. While the
original was destroyed by fire in 1989, this
faithful recreation continues to pay tribute
to the classic structure that symbolized
classic Hollywood. |
