The Beauty and the Beast stage show made its debut in 1994, joining the Tower of Terror in the newly opened Sunset Boulevard. The theater building was originally located at what is now the entryway to Sunset Boulevard. The theater stood there from May 1, 1989 to May 2, 1993, when it was painstakingly moved and rebuilt at its current location in the shadows of the Tower of Terror.
