Before Mission: Space arrived, Test Track was the biggest thrill ride in all of Epcot. Despite its reputation though, Test Track was (and is) fairly easy to handle. The first part of the ride is slower, with the thrills being kept to some brief spurts of acceleration and quick turns (OK, it is somewhat thrilling to be sprayed with acid, but that's another story!). It's the second part of the ride that gets the heart pumping—the speed runs that take you outside the pavilion.
Your test vehicle attains a top speed of 60 mph as you race through straighaways and into tight banking curves. Due to the open design of the vehicle though, it feels much faster (especially on a chilly night)!
The first part of the ride is full of unexpected surprises and industrial effects. The queue area is one of the more elaborately detailed in all of Disney World, filled with working test equipment evaluating everything from the durability of a door panel to the strength of the human knee (ouch!).
The first part of Test Track is slower, but has segments that will bounce you around with hairpin turns and rough terrain. During the outside speed runs, the high speed curves can be quite intense, but the ride is amazingly smooth. Most people should be able to handle Test Track without any trouble.
Test Track is the most popular attraction in Epcot, rivaled only by the nearby Mission: Space and the newly opened Soarin'. FastPass is highly recommended, check out the Touring Tips for other ways to avoid the long lines.
Your test ride lasts about 4 minutes.

Test Track is a thrill ride that's not just for thrill seekers only! The ride experience is relatively tame and most people should be able to enjoy Test Track without any problems. It's probably the most family-friendly thrill ride in all of Walt Disney World!
