World Showcase

IllumiNations can be seen from all around World Showcase Lagoon. Be mindful of trees that may block your view, however. You'll want to be sure to have a good view of the central islands towards the France pavilion and of the skies above.

There are a number of favorite viewing places for IllumiNations. If you want to watch from any of them it's a good idea to arrive about an hour ahead of time to be sure to get a spot:

The bridge between France and the United Kingdom
The upper deck of the Japan pavilion, above the Mitsukoshi Department Store
The Cantina de San Angel Inn across from the Mexico pavilion (arrive early to get a table by the Lagoon)
The Rose and Crown Pub in the United Kingdom (this is a particular favorite place to view IllumiNation, but you'll need to make dining reservations to secure a table)
The waterfront in front of the Italy pavilion (be aware that this area is often closed for special events)
Showcase Plaza as you enter World Showcase from Future World

After the show is over, there will be a large crowd of people heading for the exits. Instead of getting caught up in the crowd, hang around and wander through World Showcase. The stores will be closed but you can wander through the pavilions, enjoying the tranquil nighttime ambience. After 15-20 minutes you can then make your way leisurely to the exits.

On humid nights, the clouds of smoke can actually cover the Lagoon like a thick blanket. It's a good idea to check the wind direction and then stand on the opposite side of the Lagoon. If you happen to be caught downwind, the smoke will blow in your direction and may obscure your view of the fireworks.

If you view IllumiNations from a distance (for example, from the boardwalk area by the Epcot resorts), remember that there is a "false" ending before the grand finale. The interval is a bit lengthy (during which time there is a fountain display, which of course you won't be able to see!), and many people mistake this for the end of the show and leave.
