Welcome to Mexico, a land of ancient temples
and joyous festivals. Housed in a huge, Aztec-inspired
pyramid, the Mexican pavilion is surrounded
by lush, tropical foliage, giving you the feeling
that you're really there. But it's the inside
of the pyramid that's truly amazing. Set in
the perpetual twilight of the evening sky,
the Plaza de
Los Amigos sits ringed with a
variety of shops and exhibits, while across
a waterway
there looms an ancient pyramid and smoking
volcano.
As you enter the pavilion, you'll find an exhibit
called "The
Spirits in Wood", a collection of
fantastic wood carvings of animals, humans,
and beasts.
Just before the
entrance to El Rio de Tiempo, you'll find Casa
Mexicana—an authentic replication of
a typical Mexican home. The first level features
an alcove where you can
send home a video postcard, choosing from one
of four adventures (including cliff diving!).
The second level includes a
dining
room, a musical area with a number of guitars
on display, and a "Windows into
Mexico" display that allows you to see
short videos showing you the splendor of the
Yucatan Peninsula, the Gulf of Mexico,
Central
Mexico, Baja,
Northern Mexico and the Pacific Coast.
