| There are a couple of
drops here (one backwards!) but neither
is very steep nor long. There are a
few scenes with menacing trolls, but
they aren't very frightening (you might
even say they're kind of cute!). |
|
|
 |
 |
| With the exception of
the two short drops, the ride is nice
and slow. |
|
|
 |
 |
| There are lots of wonderful
effects here, from the gleaming eye
beckoning you up the first climb to
the stunning deep sea oil rig in the
chilly North Atlantic. And don't forget
those trolls... |
|
|
 |
 |
| There aren't really
any problems here since the ride is
mostly slow and relaxing. The drops
themselves are fairly gentle. |

| Maelstrom is by far
the most popular attraction in World
Showcase. FastPass is recommended if
lines are lengthy, be sure to check
out the Touring
Tips for suggestions
on minimizing your
wait time for Maelstrom. |
|
|
 |
 |
| The attraction itself
lasts about 4 1/2 minutes. If you would
like to enjoy the movie, it runs for
an additional 5 minutes. Depending
on your timing, you may have to wait
a few minutes for the previous show
to finish before you enter the theater,
so at the most the entire experience
will last about 15 minutes. Keep in
mind that you are free to bypass the
movie once the theater doors open (though
do try to see it at least once—Norway
is a beautiful country!). |

Maelstrom is flume ride with a
few not-so-bad drops. While the ride is relatively short,
it does boast some wonderful visual effects. The five minute
film on Norway that follows is a breathtaking overview of
this beautiful country. |
