Opened:
October 1, 1971 (Original Attraction)
Origins: "it's a small world" was originally conceived and built for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. It was the centerpiece of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) pavilion and was such an instant hit that it was soon relocated to Disneyland. It has since been replicated in every Magic Kingdom park across the world.
Updates: In 2005 "it's a small world" received a major renovation. The queue area was totally redesigned in order to bring it stylistically closer to the classic Disneyland version, and the original orchestral recording of the theme song was reintroduced, having recently been rediscovered by Imagineer Glenn Barker in the Disney archives.
