Big Thunder Mountain
Railroad was the second of the Magic Kingdom mountains
to be built (the first being Space Mountain), continuing
the Disney trend of creating thrill rides with
a unique back story and an unbelievable attention
to detail.
Unlike the Disneyland version (which opened a year
earlier and was inspired by the the hoodoos of
Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah), Florida's
version of Thunder Mountain draws its inspiration
from Monument Valley in Utah and
Arizona. |
