The attention to detail is pure Disney, with authentically detailed forts, barrel bridges, caves and pathways to explore. The air guns at Fort Langhorne are a particular favorite.
Tom Sawyer Island is moderately popular, but tends to be overlooked by visitors obsessed with seeking out the thrill rides at the Magic Kingdom. You need to board a raft to get to Tom Sawyer Island (which can get crowded), but once you're there you'll find yourself in a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Magic Kingdom. It's a great place for a mid-day escape.
You can explore Tom Sawyer Island—or relax sipping a cool lemonade—for as long as you like.

Tom Sawyer Island is a great place to get away from it all. Kids will have a great time exploring the many pathways and caves on the island, while parents can relax in a rocking chair sipping lemonade (though they're free to explore the rickety bridges and old forts too!). It's one of the best kept secrets at the Magic Kingdom.
