There are four different
locomotives, each with their own name, emblazoned
on different colored name boards on the sides of
the cabs:
Walter E. Disney (red)
Lilly Belle (green)
Roger E. Broggie (yellow)
Roy O. Disney (blue)
The Lilly Belle is names after Walt's wife Lillian,
while the Roger E. Broggie is named in honor
of the Disney machinery wizard who helped Walt
start his model railroading hobby. |

| The locomotives were
built over the course of the years 1916 to 1928
by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. Another famous Baldwin locomotive
is on permanent display at the Franklin Institute
Science Museum in Philadelphia (you can ride on
it but the journey isn't nearly as scenic, seeing
as it only travels a few feet back and forth in
the display hall!). |

 |
| The original locomotives
were in great disrepair when they were salvaged
from the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. The were
transported to the Tampa Shipbuilding and Dry Dock
Company where they were painstakingly restored. |
