Walt Disney World Resort has completely "re-imagined" Downtown Disney, with new shopping, dining, and a completely re-imagined Pleasure Island.
One of the most exciting additions is a one-of-a-kind dining experience, T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure. The dinosaur-themed family eatery serves up pizzas, pastas, seafood and more, and features life-size animated dinosaurs that dwell among bubbling geysers, waterfalls and a fossil dig site. Other dining options include the Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, and
Paradiso 37, a North, South and Central American restaurant featuring dishes famously sold by street vendors in those countries.
Shopping choices include
Orlando Harley-Davidson, Curl by Sammy Duvall (a surf-themed shop), and Fuego by Sosa Cigars.
To make way for the new offerings, all of the clubs formerly on Pleasure Island closed on September 27, 2008.
