Braves to Battle Mets, Tigers, Cardinals, Yankees and others during Spring Training at Walt Disney World Resort

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Atlanta Braves, celebrating their tenth spring training at The Ballpark, will battle several key rivals during the 2007 Major League Baseball Spring Training season at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. After two weeks of workouts, the Braves will play a 16-game home schedule that includes marquee clashes with the Mets, Tigers, Cardinals and Yankees at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

Braves pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 15, with their first workout set for Feb. 16, marking the beginning of the tenth year the perennial champions have come to Walt Disney World Resort for spring training. Position players arrive Feb. 20, with the first full-squad workouts on Feb. 21.

After opening the spring schedule with an exhibition game against Georgia Tech on Feb. 28, the Braves begin their major-league schedule versus the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 1. The Braves continue their tradition of hosting the St. Louis Cardinals, the 2006 World Series Champions, in back-to-back games, March 16-17, marking the fifth consecutive year the teams have faced off in a two-game spring series.

The American League champion Detroit Tigers are at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on two occasions, March 18 and March 27, while the Braves' division rival New York Mets make an appearance in town on March 22. National League rival Houston Astros visit The Ballpark on March 3 and March 13. The Braves host three other American League teams, including the New York Yankees (March 8), Toronto Blue Jays (March 10) and Cleveland Indians (March 19 and March 29).
