
Atlanta Braves Celebrate 10 Years at The Ballpark

Braves to Battle Mets, Tigers, Cardinals, Yankees
and others during Spring Training at Walt Disney World

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Atlanta Braves, celebrating
their tenth spring training at The Ballpark, will battle
several key rivals during the 2007 Major League Baseball
Spring Training season at Disney's Wide World of Sports
Complex. After two weeks of workouts, the Braves will
play a 16-game home schedule that includes marquee
clashes with the Mets, Tigers, Cardinals and Yankees
at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
Braves pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 15, with
their first workout set for Feb. 16, marking the beginning
of the tenth year the perennial champions have come
to Walt Disney World Resort for spring training. Position
players arrive Feb. 20, with the first full-squad workouts
on Feb. 21.
After opening the spring schedule with an exhibition
game against Georgia Tech on Feb. 28, the Braves begin
their major-league schedule versus the Los Angeles
Dodgers on March 1. The Braves continue their tradition
of hosting the St. Louis Cardinals, the 2006 World
Series Champions, in back-to-back games, March 16-17,
marking the fifth consecutive year the teams have faced
off in a two-game spring series.
The American League champion Detroit Tigers are at
Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex on two occasions,
March 18 and March 27, while the Braves' division rival
New York Mets make an appearance in town on March 22.
National League rival Houston Astros visit The Ballpark
on March 3 and March 13. The Braves host three other
American League teams, including the New York Yankees
(March 8), Toronto Blue Jays (March 10) and Cleveland
Indians (March 19 and March 29).
Individual game tickets for the Braves' home spring
training season go on sale Saturday, Jan. 6, at 10
a.m. through Ticketmaster (407/839-3900 and ticketmaster.com)
and at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex box
office. Prices range from $14 (general admission lawn
seats) to $22.50 (lower reserved).
