The Fort Wilderness Campground is the only campground at Walt Disney World; featuring a vast, wooded wilderness resort that's home to 788 shady campsites and 407 air-conditioned Wilderness Cabins.

Sprawling across 700 acres of rugged wilderness, the Fort Wilderness Campground features a variety of activities such as hiking, horseback riding and biking (one of the trails leads all the way to the nearby Wilderness Lodge). There's also a petting zoo and a marina where you can rent a variety of watercraft for use on Bay Lake.
It's not called Fort Wilderness for nothing! As you wander throughout the grounds you can expect to see a variety of wildlife including rabbits, deer, armadillos, ducks, geese, and even a few peacocks.
The Hoop Dee Musical Revue is a fun-filled, all-you-can-eat dinner show held nightly at Pioneer Hall. If you come get ready for some rootin'-tootin', hoop-hollarin' fun!
The Campfire Program is held nightly near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area, and begins with a sing-along led by a Disney Cast Member and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. Chip and Dale are on hand to visit and sign autographs, and afterwards you'll get to see one or two Disney animated features, (depending upon the season), shown on a large outdoor screen.
You can also take part in a nightly wagon ride, which departs from Pioneer Hall at 7 and 9:30 p.m. (the cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children). Depending on Magic Kingdom hours, you may even get to see the evening fireworks display!

The campsites are all surrounded by a lush forest of trees and shrubbery, giving you plenty of privacy. The campsites are all back-ins with a paved driveway and sandy pad.

The Wilderness Cabins feature a wood deck, picnic table and a charcoal grill. The theming inside is very rustic, with furniture that appears to be made from branches and a distinctive log cabin-like design.

15 comfort stations are strategically located throughout the campground.

The campsites and Wilderness Cabins are grouped in loops. Loops 100 through 500 (and 700) are near the Settlement Trading Post, Pioneer Hall and the Marina. Loops 800 through 1600 (and 600) are centrally located and are the closest to the Meadow Trading Post, the campfire program, the main swimming pool, the tennis courts and the Bike Barn. For those looking for a bit more seclusion, the remaining loops are further away from the main areas of the resort.

The Fort Wilderness Campground is huge! Three shuttle bus routes allow guests to travel from one part of the resort to the other (saving lots of footsteps!). You can also rent a golf cart for the duration of your stay (there are only a limited number available though, so you may want to reserve one when you make your reservations).

The shuttle buses basically run back and forth between the Outpost Depot near the resort's entrance and the Settlement Depot near the resort's marina, with differing stops in between.
